Rochers de Naye

The railway from Montreux offers stunning views of Lake Geneva & the Swiss Alps.

Rochers de Naye
The station at the summit

The electric rack-railway from Montreux climbs more than 1,600 meters in altitude on its way to the upper terminus of Rochers de Naye. Departing from platform 8 of the main line at Montreux railway station it begins to climb steeply as soon as it leaves Montreux.

The train continues for 55 minutes through the villages of Glion and Caux before passing through alpine meadows with views towards Lake Geneva. Dent de Jaman appears before a final tunnel that reveals our final destination. A steep climb from the terminus to the viewpoint gives stunning 360° views. A precipitous walk reveals the Swiss Alps in all directions.
